As most grammar schools will begin to open their registrations programme from April, now is the perfect time for our Fully Qualified Teachers to start preparing your children for their 11+ examination and help ensure they pass with flying colours to secure their place!

For pupils in year 6, the thought of an exam can be a daunting and stressful prospect, however in order to gain entrance to one of the many Grammar or Independent schools across the country, then there will be a need to sit a selective 11+ entrance examination.

Applications for Grammar or Independent schools usually open in April/May time, with entrance examinations taking place in September. The results are usually published in October ahead of the following September intake.

Typically, the format of the 11+ entrance examination consists of 4 key areas:

  • Maths
  • English
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Non-verbal reasoning

Your child may be asked to do all 4 of these subjects or a combination of them. This will be solely down to the different locations, schools and exam boards.

Our tutors will work with your child to ensure that they are fully supported and prepared for their exam by providing practical application of their knowledge through previous 11+ exam papers, either as a group or in exam-style conditions.

This will help build your child’s confidence in approaching, answering, and forming their answers.

All of our 11+ tutors are fully qualified Teachers and have a wealth of experience in providing support and preparation for children in Year 5 and 6 and can offer online or face-to-face lessons, either in a 1:1 format or part of a small class group.
